I was inspired buy Windsor Smith new fabric collection for Kravet Fabrics. We were able to alter the pattern slightly so as to not completly copy Mrs.Smith. For those of you unfamiliar to this new collection take a look at Kravet’s Website, www.kravet.com for more info. If you are in the Victoria area please pop into Bespoke to see in person. One little teaser..I will be photgraphing a clients completed home where we used another of these fabrics…watch for the updated post with pictures!

"A passion for Interior Design, Fabrics and Color. I will be eternally grateful to my sister-in-law for her passion for wines as this journey was not something I would normally undertake, imagine missing this jewel! After much consulting with google maps via iphone we came up this amazing view ( well amazing if you love interior design)

The Cider House at Sea Cider is clearly inspired by neighbouring barns, though embracing clean lines and simple, natural materials. The quintessential west coast materials of ceder and fir are used for trims and details, which is a subtle and stunning contrast to the white stucco used for the body of the structure. The addition of galvanized planters and goose neck lamps (never met a goose neck I didn’t love!) adds to the mod/west coast/industrial chic flavor of the exterior. Imagine my glee when I discovered this was our final destination ( and that I would get to see the interior!)

The Chic Barn flavor continued inside with a VAST space done simply with white walls and a stained fir ceiling..stunning in it’s simplicity. The seating is family style, with long tales of rough hewn stained fir. The effect is rustic while still feeling clean. I love the tables paired with the galvanized steel chairs ( where do I get some!!?!!),and I am happy to say they were quite comfortable. I love the way the balcony railing echos the exterior railing. I do believe details of that nature are best left consistent, so the eye may notice more important images…like the view

STUNNING…..

My favorite item in this interior is the garage door opening to the expansive deck, I’ll admit it, I would kill for a garage door opening in my shop! It was an absolute pleasure to sit in this vast space with such an incredible view framed in such a cheeky/intriguing way..I highly recommend it! I only have one negative point being the acoustics. The floors are polished concrete which paired with plain walls and wood/metal tables leads to quite the echo. I would suggest the owner use some seagrass carpeting.

Seagrass carpeting like the above would add some sound absorption qualities while still maintaining the natural modern flavor. Perhaps 2x2 sections of the above laid together would allow for easy replacement in the event of a spill. I would also add linen curtains below the cash area ( where the stored glassware is a little to visible) and perhaps to the windows..just for warmth

For those interested in the Cider, I can ony tell you I enjoyed all the flavors I tried. I took the “full flight” option which included testers of six different flavors, which we paired with a local cheese tray…YUM. I am currently enjoying the Kings and Spies…which I picked up at my local liquor store, though I am looking forward to a return visit!
